I've never heard about this response to baking soda. Is it common?
I don’t know, Sara Marie. I’d not been warned about it. It felt similar to chilli burning on the way out. I suppose it was the alkaline nature of the bicarb.
It doesn’t affect me in baking, just when I had some dissolved in water on its own.
Let out a few yelps but luckily I live in the country and no-one could hear. Mostly better today.
