I feel as if I'm starting to sound like a broken record still dealing with leaking with the loop ileostomy from round one of J pouch surgery in February we are now using a convex bag with a ring and paste I have tried the suggestions from some on the group to heat the ring and paste before applying also skin is broken down very severely I'm using Marathon have used the heating pad when applying new pouch however they do not want me to use it for extended periods because we believe the heat could be loosening the adhesive so I no longer apply it for more than 10 minutes after pouch change my ostomy nurse has tried several different pouches and we are waiting on another sample to come in to try that probably is my stoma is odd shaped and does not protrude very far empties very close to the skin seems as if nothing we do works very frustrated
