Hi again,

I got a phone call yesterday from the doc saying my latest blood tests came back with a positive for autoantibodies. And that they will be booking me in for a brain MRI. It is due to me telling them that I have found it harder to find my words lately. With the anemia, iron infusions and brain fog that has been going on I was getting concerned. I have been a bit more clumsy amd my balance has been worse recently.

It is strange as I am not worried about it. But I feel like I should be? I suspect that I have arthritis in my toe and finger so that could be why I have the positive results. But I think that arthritis is a byproduct of the UC.

I dont want to talk to family as I then feel like I have the job or reassuring them, plus it might be nothing so no point worrying them.

Has anyone had these types of things? Spit balling ideas of what could be going on and I have no one else to talk to about it.

I am following because I'm curious about what others will say.  I have had recent blood work that said I am negative for Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis antibodies.  It doesn't really make any sense. I had UC in my colon, but it's an autoimmune thing, not a colon thing, so it seems like I would still have it.  And my immune system is still overreacting and attacking my skin and joints, now that it doesn't have my colon to kick around.  I also suspect that the intense food sensitivity I have is due to the same problem.  But who knows?

Hi Sara,

I have the same, no colon and possibly got some arthritis in my finger and two that could of been caused by UC. I have spoken to my doctors to ask them to test for that and I also found out today I am going in for another endoscope. I'll ask them to take biopsy to test for crohns.

I'll let the thread know what the results are as and when they come in.

Well I don't have arthritis, my brain scan came back normal.....debatable.

Endoscope tomorrow and I'll ask the doctor about crohns. Otherwise back to the drawing board. I think I need to have my hemoglobin tested again, I'll see if they can do the auto antibody test again. I am on a waiting list to be assessed with ADHD so the bad brain fog and missing words could be coming from there. As for the positive test for auto antibodies 🤷🏼‍♀️ I don't know.
