Gas & constipation

I apologize if this has already been discussed before. I had my j pouch takedown surgery on 3/21/18 & have had nothing but trouble with more gas than I ever thought could be possible, & difficulty passing stool. I don't understand how I could have no large intestine and still have partially formed stool, which is very painful and difficult to pass. I don't have pouchitis and no problems have shown during the 2 pouchoscopies I've had. I take mirilax twice a day & don't think I could have much of a BM without it. I wouldnt mind 10 BMs a day if they were of the correct consistency. I drink a minimum of 1.5 gallons of water a day.
