My understanding is that fistulas do not usually heal on their own. I have one that has formed at my navel and am currently waiting for surgery to be scheduled at Cleveland Clinic. A CT scan helped to locate it.

I certainly understand your concern and waiting until the end of January for an appointment is not helpful. Do you have a gynecologist or gastroenterologist that you could see?
