I am assuming a few things.

1. You have a loop ostomy. If so, it will produce a great deal more than the end ostomy you probably had after step 1. Dehydration is a huge issue with the loop. You will find you need to drink constantly to keep up with it. Food also went in and out of me in about 20-30 mins. I overall felt like crap with the loop.

2. Are you eating solid foods yet? If so, do you have a blockage? Vomiting and nausea lead towards that. It could also be a stomach flu. There is a nasty one going around still.

Are you taking an anti nausea meds? these will help. Get them.

The second surgery is a tough one. Keep up on this though.
Yes I do have a loop now, it's producing so much no formed stools at all. I was living so well with my previous stoma. With the loop stoma does it eventually become more formed then liquid ?

Yes I've started slowly eating solid foods but my appetite is awful will only eat half a slice of bread than feel to vomit. The anti sickness meds don't seem to really help as the sickness is constantly there. Will this pass ? And how did you manage with your loop and how long was you in hospital for ?

Many thanks
After my surgery they kept me in the hospital and extra five days because my output was very high. They wouldn't let me go home until it slowed down. And it did but it was a bit nerve wracking. The loop is notoriously high output and liquid. You need to keep hydrated really well once you get home. It will pass though and things will thicken up a bit. I had the nausea too. Once this all settles you will be able to eat more and that will help a lot to thicken and slow your output.
Do you have a fever? This could be a sign of an abscess.

The output from my loop ileo never firmed up on its own. A few weeks after surgery I started taking six Imodium tablets per day in order to stay hydrated but the output stayed liquidy for the most part. After reversal my j-pouch output has been a lot more similar to what came out of the end ileo (and I no longer take Imodium).

In any case, the nausea and chills sound like a more extreme issue than we can address over the internet, you should get in touch with your surgeon/doctor.

I just hope things will get better real soon. I'm starting to get bad stomach pains and feeling very cold then hot but mainly cold I'm shivering a lot could these be any signs of anything ?

Just as everyone said, the loop is a pain, but you will improve.

You stated you are hot and cold with stomach pains, but all your blood work, esp wbc count, is good correct?

I had the Noro virus about 6 weeks ago and what you are describing mimicked my symptoms. And it was horrible.

have you been checked for the stomach flu? That would be a real kick in the pants to get it so soon after a major surgery.

If you had an abscess or infection, your white blood cell count would be elevated. Please make sure it is normal
I just had step 2 of 3 done close to a month ago. It will get better, I had very similar symptoms as you have and I am just starting to feel normal again. I think due to the fact you didnt eat for a long time it takes awhile for your body to get used to the new setup. I too felt nauseous whenever I ate for about 2 weeks after the surgery. Also my output is slowing down. I wouldn't recommend it right now but after about 4 weeks you should start taking Metamucil fiber before every meal to help slow things down, it has really helped me. I went from emptying every 1-2 hrs to every 3-4 hours and the consistency is more like pudding than water now as well.
