Barbieg, have you tried chia seeds?  When chia seeds are added to liquids, the tiny seeds swell up to a gel-like texture. If you add chia seeds to yogurt, smoothie, soup, or even oatmeal, it will absorb liquid and hopefully slow down and thicken your BMs. Chia seeds are high in fibre. Do not eat chia seeds dry. Always add to food. Good luck.

Chia seeds are good source of fiber as said above. Bananas also tighten up the stool alot.Try pysillium husk with curd . The husk does make you go more but it clears you up. I do intermittent fasting. My last meal at 8:30 then 1-2 tsp husk I'd go like 2 times then no more the whole night. After that once in morning. And 3 times in the day. I eat my breakfast at 10 so the gap in between helps alot to relax. Try brocolli or cauliflower soups or steamed and carrots too. Brown bread, brown rice, oats all help to thicken the output alot.

Thanks for the suggestion of chia seeds but I don’t do well with any fiber. It’s interesting how they work though. Wish they came wo the shell of the seed, then I could take them.

I don’t like to eat large meals. I think I have short bowel Syndrome. I eat 1/2 bagel w cream cheese w coffee for breakfast.  Lunch is usually a Greek yogurt & Propel water. Then dinner is meat w rice, potatoes or pasta, and a smooth veggie occasionally. Since I stopped eating Caesar salad my output has been less. Homemade potato soup is the best. But I like to eat out & cheat on foods that don’t digest the best. Is there any medication I’m missing out on?

Maybe try an alkaline diet?  If your output is acidic, switch your food to include more alkaline items. Google it and see which alkaline and acidic foods you can tolerate, and find a balance. See if that helps with acidicity. If you like cheese on your morning bagel, see if you like a good aged cheddar, which will give you protein and is less processed than cream cheese. When I used to eat processed food, I had problems.

Thanks Winterberry, I looked it up:

Alkaline: Fruits, nuts, legumes and vegetables.

Ill try to add more to my diet. My gut doesn’t do good with fiber, so I’m limited. I guess I could break out the blender and do some smoothies. I used to be a vegetarian years ago and had smoothies everyday. I really miss eating fresh fruit & veggies.

I had pasta w vodka sauce last night & a Caesar salad and my gut digested it fairly well. Baking banana bread tomorrow!
