I have been looking around for Vsl3 alternatives and see many that give time release, gastro resistant as a USP. One company claimed their formula of 30B cfu is worth 450B cfu as more gets lower down the GI.

That got me thinking, i need the probiotics in my pouch, why lose lots via the stomach and GI tract when I could just deliver them directly via enema, whereby all 450B cfu make it to the place they are needed.

Has anyone tried this or have thoughts as to why it would not work? I am thinking about getting an enema bulb kit via Amazon and testing this 🤔

A few folks have posted over the years about trying this. It’s very difficult to measure efficacy of probiotics, and one person’s results could easily be random variation. I wish Bo Shen were more interested in probiotics, since he’s one of the few people who could test this properly in a clinical trial. Heck, maybe he has - negative results are very hard to get published.

Thanks Scott.
I will report back here.  Ultimately I want to see if there is an improvement and, secondly, whether I can lower the dose to maintain a level.  Using half the amount of VSL3 will save a lot of money.  It will all be subjective
