I'm in Surrey, had my surgery in 97 at SMH. I am fairly new to the site and have never meet anyone who has had this type of surgery. I met my Doctor a couple of times after my surgery and then he disapeared lol. I've was left on my own to figure things out, and I'm still figuring it out, or maybe this is just normal,

Thought I'd chime in here. I had my j-pouch surgery almost 2 years ago (Xmas 2013) and I live in Vancouver. My dad had the same surgery in 1985, also in Vancouver. His was one of the first reversals done in western Canada. I've been very happy with the care I've gotten through my whole UC journey (with the exception of the first GI doc I saw). I feel lucky to live in Canada and have the reassurance of a quality health care system and an understanding unionized workplace. I'd be happy to connect with any other Vancouver j-pouchers who might want (or have!) information and support.
