Hello everyone! I am looking for advice on gaining weight. Since my surgery (6 months ago) I've gained back most of my weight but am about 6 pounds shy of my normal weight and would like to gain at least 5-10 more pounds. I am 5'8 and only about 106 right now, so I feel way too thin.

A lot of weight gain advice on the internet isn't super helpful to someone with a jpouch. "Snack on nuts and dried fruit" isn't gonna be applicable to me. Haha.

I am vegetarian, moderately active and becoming more so as I continue to feel stronger, and I eat regular meals and try to snack in between--though honestly my appetite is not quite where it used to be, so I think I consume less per meal. I try to eat a balanced diet and don't want to feel unhealthy while trying to gain. I know I could just eat bread and pasta and cheese and sweets all the time--but I don't think that'll make me feel great overall.

What have your experiences been in trying to gain weight back in a healthy manner? Thanks in advance!!

I struggle gaining weight as well.  I work out regularly and it is a struggle to keep weight on after my J-pouch.  I find that protein goes through me very fast and haven't noticed any significant weight gain from using it.  It does help with muscle recovery though so I do use it.  Granted I am taking it after working out and not before bedtime as others suggested.  I feel like I eat all I can and if I eat any more I would spend the rest of the time in the bathroom.  I have resigned myself to being 130 lbs. but that is fine because I feel good and look healthy.  I love me some peanut butter but that is something I can't eat any longer.  I would love to hear if you find weight gaining tricks!
