Swallowed a cherry pit - will it affect my J-pouch? | The J-Pouch Group

Hello, first time posting here, so thanks in advance for any help you can offer. Just a minor thing (I hope), but I've had a J-pouch for a few years now, and I accidentally swallowed a cherry pit a couple of nights ago and was concerned that it might get caught in my J-Pouch or not be able to pass through it.

I did send a message to my surgeon's office and they basically just told me to watch for any symptoms I might have, so I figured I'd try here and see if anyone has any advice or has had a similar experience.

From my personal experience, no. I eat everything (except spaghetti squash). Cherry pits are small and round so should pass without issue. Others may have different experiences but my J-pouch tolerates nuts, mushrooms, lettuce, kale, and all kinds of fruits and veggies with the skin on.
