does anyone recall how long stage 2 is, this is creation of j pouch and loop ileostomy

GREAT!!!! I hope everything goes well with the three months, I hope there is no complications! And who knows, you might fall in love with the bag and decide to keep it.

Haha, well i had my bag for 3 years. Mine is a 3 stage. So from 2017-2020 i had my ileostomy (mainly because I wanted to have my 2nd kid before my j pouch) This 2nd step was just jpouch creation. So no, in my case, i will go for it and get my takedown 😎😎

You did it the smart way!!! After the J-pouch surgery, the infertility rate jumps to 50%. I am 28 and I got my J-pouch at 22, I did not know about infertility with the J-pouch until after the surgery was done XD Just my luck XD

I am glad you had your baby before the J-pouch creation! I hear a lot of people do that nowadays.

We still had to go for IVF !!! Was so much easier with my 1st kid. Was your laparoscopic? If thats the case adhesions are minimal and wont effect fertility by much

Oh you still needed IVF?? I hear that a lot with J-pouchers needing IVF. And yeah mine was laprascopic. Yours too???

Well thats a long story. I was diagnosed with UC in 2010. I had no issues conceiving my son in 2012. My UC was also mild at that time. But after that it flared badly during pregnancy and so i started taking humira after delivery. I did great and so around early 2015 (i was 28 then) started planning to have another kid. We had it too easy the 1st time, but it was just not happening. After 14 months, the doctor said secondary infertility is the case here and she said its not that uncommon. I tried clomid, iui etc.. no avail. IVF was the only option. But right around that time, i started flaring again. My doc at CCF (we live in houston, but always consulted CCF for key things and had all surgeries there, plus my hubby went to case western in Cleveland, so he had a strong preference) said, its risky to go through an IVF/Pregnancy when i am flaring so much even with biologics. Plus they said that with so much of biologics/prednisone usage, they will do the surgery only in 3 stages. So they said you can just have step 1, try and conceive and then after delivery come back. I had my stage 1(just colon removal in sep 2017). We did try from around march of 18 to sep 18 naturally and even couple of iui cycles before going for an ivf. The ivf Doctor kept saying that since i already had one kid with no assisted fertility treatments, I really must have some minor issue and did not really need an ivf. But we tried everything. Lo and behold, the ivf was very straight forward in my case, got pregnant straight at 1st shot. Had my baby daughter last year in Aug. Pregnancy with the ileostomy is another long story 🤣🤣. Then waited for a year after delivery before getting my j pouch done last week.

i can wait to start wearing my normal apparel once my take down is done in Jan
