Surgery at CC

I am new to this forum and am looking for feedback on surgeons. I was diagnosed with severe UC last year and after several unsuccussful months of Remicade and after developing another auto immune disease recently, it has been recommended that I have the pouch surgery. I have consulted with a GI doctor at CC in addition to my local GI doctor and am planning to have my surgery there. I was given the option of meeting with Dr. Kalady or Dr. Strong. Does anyone have experience with either surgeon? Any recommendations would be helpful! Thanks!

I had my surgery at cc but with dr.remzi. Great place. I am very happy I went there and had surgery my story is very similar.

Hi njblue, I had my surgery with Dr. Strong at the CC in Ohio. Had my pouch reconstruction done in two steps. First in Nov 2001 with final done in Feb 2002. I can only speak for my case but everything has been great. Still relatively issue free. Godspeed on your surgery.

Dr.Kalady did my surgeries in 2008. He is a great doctor. Has great bedside manner and even calls my cell phone every now and then to ask how im doing and gives advice. I had many complications and still have some issues but not sure if you can blame everything on doctors. They have many competent surgeons there and they all pretty much communicate very well with each other
