I have came here so many times for support, I thought it was only right to share some good news that someone may be looking for! I had my takedown done at the beginning of March, and I am happy to say I just returned from an AMAZING trip to Jamaica! I received my cancer diagnosis last year right after my wedding, so my husband and I had to postpone our honeymoon. Luckily, my pouch behaved perfectly.. I was able to eat/drink as I pleased, quite a bit of the "local fare" and more than a few piña coladas and mojitos! lol The only things I did in regards to my "new" normal while on vacation was to take one Immodium with breakfast and/or dinner when I thought about it, threw in some gas-x/beano if I was overly concerned something would be problematic, and made sure to thoroughly enjoy the fresh coconut water there for hydration! We were also able to get out and snorkel quite a bit- I'm so glad to be able to report the pouch didn't hold me back a bit. So for any of you approaching the takedown that may be worrisome- keep faith, there are positive outcomes to this "new" adjustment.
