I  am having to go every hour to two hours, including night hours...I never have a restful night...

Dang girl!!! I thought I had everyone beat by me going 20X a day lol. I am sorry to hear that honey! Fiber foods and oatmeal help! I have that all of the time and it helps a lot! Instead of mashed potatoes, I love cooked potatoes more, I find that helps me more.

When was your takedown???

Since you are not new to the j-pouch and this is a pretty new (but now chronic) symptom, you have to think in terms of what has changed. If you started eating a new food, that might be a culprit. This especially true if you switched to low carb/sugar foods (with sugar alcohols like mannitol, sorbitol or xylitol), as they are not digested and cause diarrhea.

Another, more concerning thought is a possible food poisoning that you did not recover from, or just plain bacterial overgrowth from no particular etiology. Your upper intestines could be afflicted without it being evident on scope. You can try various probiotics to turn it around, or ask for a course of Flagyl or Cipro to see if that takes care of things. You could get tested for salmonella, C. difficile or pathogenic E. Coli, or other bad actors. But, it is usually simpler and faster to see if routine treatment does the job.

Good luck with it. I definitely recommend you follow up with your GI.

My take down was in 2007.

I had Covid in January and my gut has not been the same. Has anyone heard of others with lingering gut issues after Covid?
My symptoms were very mild, loss of taste, smell, appetite, slight cough and tired.

Since your Takedown was in 2007 then its definitely not that, I thought you were a newbie. I hope things get better. Definitely tell GI, sounds like an infection.

Gee, it certainly could be a unique symptom of “long hauler syndrome” of Covid-19. Since it seemed to start with that, Covid sure would be a likely suspect. Have you been vaccinated? I just recently read that some people with long hauler syndrome saw markedly improved symptoms after vaccination. Granted, most of these folks complain of neurologic symptoms, but it is something to think about.

However, a Covid-19 infection could have lowered your resistance to a secondary bacterial gut infection.
