My takedown is scheduled for Aug 8 and last Wednesday I had a routine sigmoidoscopy to check for leaks.  The surgeon did a stretching with a balloon of 9mm.  The problem now is the pain down there is getting worst. Not sure what is going on down there. And today while changing my bag I noticed a lot of pus coming out from the bottom of my stoma, and blood all around it which has never happened unless I am ulcerated from leaking which I am not.  Just concerned about the pain and the pus.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Did she say anything about the pus from around your stoma? I had an abscess develop while I was waiting for my take down.  It was under the mid-line incision and there was some pus that my surgeon had said was "normal". During take down they discovered the abscess and I had a huge hole that needed packing while it healed for several months.

I hope the pain is getting better.  I would complain about it if it doesn't get better.  I had my j-pouch dilated several times and there wasn't as much pain as you describe.
