My son had a pouch redo by Remzi 10/18. He has some complications and still has temp ileo. We are in the hospital trying to find the reason for the significant pain beneath his sternum. CT scan and upper endoscopy showed nothing. The gallbladder looks good as well as his labs for liver and gallbladder. Now they mentioned the possibility of SIBO. What kind of pain comes with SIBO? Would SIBO cause intense waves of pain that come and go all day and can’t be well controlled with oxy?
SIBO essentially causes gas overproduction and pain results. If your son’s pain doesn’t move at all then I’d start asking questions about SIBO as the diagnosis.
My hubby has that. His gastro guy recommended a doctor from Penn State who specializes in Sibo.
