My wife had a jpouch with takedown 2 years ago November for colorectal cancer. After reanastamosis she had an ileus with severe cramping vomiting and was in hospital ten days. Things have been going pretty well occasionally she will have episodes of cramping if she takes too much Imodium or gets a little blocked up but we r getting good at recognizing and correcting. She just had her thyroid out and went 24 hrs with no bm, then had a few good bms and started having explosive watery diarrhea. The cramping was as severe as post op ileus. She was also having watery leakage which hasn't happened since right after reanastamosis. We went in to ed (calcium was also off) and aas showed ileus. Now three days later she is finally having less cramping and formed stools again. For those of you years out has this been a similar issue after general anesthesia? That is only thing we can really attribute to?
