Scheduled C Section?

Hi all,

I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant. I've had my j-pouch for 2 years, but have had complications non-stop - pouchitis, cuffitis, fistulas, you name it!

Anyway, my OB strongly recommended a C-section from the outset. I don't meet with her again for another 3 weeks, but I was wondering, for those of you who had scheduled C sections, at what week did you deliver?

I know the preference is to avoid having us go into labour and do an emergency C section, so I assume they schedule them a bit "early" to avoid that?

I was a scheduled c-section with both of my pregnancies. Here they schedule them at week 39. I ended up scheduling on the last day of week 38, since that's the OB that I wanted on those days. I never went into labor with either pregnancy.

38 1/2 weeks with one and 38 weeks with the other - both dates were based upon size of the baby and not wanting to go too early.

I was 37 weeks on the dot but was very sick with relentless pouchitis.

I was scheduled 5 days before my due date. I had started having intermittent contractions but not active labor.

Thanks everyone! I've also discovered that my hospital generally schedules them 10 days before the due date.

But... I'm due January 4. 10 days prior to that is December 25. I don't know if my OB is around Christmas week, so I expect it will be either the week earlier or the week later. Hopefully the week later (Dec 29) as I'd prefer not to go before 38 weeks unless medically necessary.
