Has anyone found Salofalk suppositories to help?  And if so, how?

I had a flexible sigmoidoscopy this week so that my GI could determine the extent of my inflammation.   She determined that it appeared the cuff of my pouch and my rectum area were inflamed.  She didn't see inflammation on my small colon, however, she said that it wasn't easy to determine that because there was a lot of stool there.  I had done clear fluids for 24 hours but according to her, I probably should have taken a laxative to clean myself out better.

After she performed the flexsig, she prescribed Salofalk suppositories 1000mg.  I remember taking them many years ago before having my j-pouch surgery for Ulcerative Colitis.  I have only used 1 suppository this far.  Has anyone found this medication helpful ?  I had always found those suppositories to be more aggravation and discomfort than the condition itself.
