I have been through so much in the past 6 years (emergency removal of my colon after 5 years of UC, J-pouch surgeries, serious car accident that broke every bone on my right side, ended up with 3 plates, 19 pins and 2 screws to hold my leg together, Achilles heel lengthening, 2 incidents of pulmonary embolisms, and then congestive heart failure from viral bronchitis where my heart was only pumping at 19%), but guess what....I'm doing GREAT!
I work part-time at a job I love, I finally got to meet my first grandchild (My main motivation for surviving through all of the BS above), settled my personal injury lawsuit (from the accident noted above) and I am looking at a bright and happy future! I hardly ever think about my pouch (although it caused me trouble over the holidays), and I just roll with the punches life throws at me, because I now believe there has always been a reason for my journey (the good, bad and the ugly) and that I will and can survive anything!
Best wishes to all of you members who helped me get through some of the worst and scary moments of my new way of life.
