ok, had first surgery last August and takedown in October. It's been a bit of a rough road. Lots of burning and itching right away and everyday this whole time. Have had couple dilations, had scar removal surgery. just found something wrong with vaginal wall that may be the culprit. There's some background...

i was just reading on here the other night and came across a post about using questran for butt burn and I had never heard of it before. I was wondering how that was so since it's been a topic of discussion with my surgeon, nurse practioner and nursing staff! I called the dr office the next day and asked for a prescription. Had a bad day yesterday ( another conversation regarding whole grain foods) so I couldn't get it filled. Just got it today and took my first dose tonight after dinner. We shall see! I took half of a dose for starters. Anyone else use this and have any suggestions?? I currently take Metamucil before every meal and am still going 20 times or so in a 24 hour day.  No other meds besides vitamins and probiotic. I burn so bad that I have not yet been able to tolerate much in the way of vegetables and fruits, eating pretty poorly and losing weight. Potatoes, nuts and beans all clog me. This has been too long and I envy those that went right back to normal diets. I live food and started to enjoy cooking and would like to get back to a healthier lifestyle with my family.

Questran anyone?

Another CRS, I know actually recommended taking a quarter or half a pack and mixing it with butt paste of your choice to place externally or just in the anal opening. I used it that way immediately post op, and it saved me at some points. I would say like a tsp added to a generous half cup mixed well and put in a clean container.  My own own CRS was like,'that's a good idea.' So if you don't want to or don't NEED to take it internally since you have to be aware of other medicine timing around the questran, give it a shot.  I have used desitin or A&D as my 'carriers'.  Once I added too much and my rush did not appreciate the grit BUT when done right it worked fantastic for known fatty bile producing foods on exit!
