Nope. Didn't say bag.

My routine is I rinse even before I empty the first time.  I have a thick output most times and it makes it empty easier. And I usually rinse it a second time with tap water just so I can wipe the end off with TP before I close it up.  And by doing that I am just wiping water and not the other. Poop.

I use a regular bottle of water. Any brand. And reuse the bottle.

And I do all this sitting on the loo. Just scootch back a bit on the seat and you have plenty of space where you need it.

I am asking this question for the sake of newcomers to the stoma world.

Suggestions to those who need it and can read how others do it.

And I'm sure there are many different ways of doing it.

Thanks all for the coming answers.

Richard.

P. S. Just put the moth picture in to lighten things up a bit. Besides it a cool looking moth. Stayed on my back porch all day. Beautiful. 20170507_133223

I add water to my bag every once in awhile, especially if my output is thick. What I will do every time is rip off toilet paper ahead of time, double it up to clean my appliance ;-) out, and use as much as I need until I'm done. I also wear a mini binder clip on the end - a tip from an ostomy nurse who has an ostomy - so I NEVER fear my bag accidentally opening.

P.S. Beautiful moth!

P. S. Ya. I thought it was cool.  Never be able to see the darn thing on a leaf!

I was asked by someone how I emptied who just got a new end ileo. I explained my way. But everyone does it differently. So I thought if I asked the person could get different perspectives from some other people. I know rinsing is not used by everyone. I just like it. So that's what I do. Some. Like you.  Don't rinse most of the time.

Thanks Lambiepie!

Richard.

I rinse it out with water everytime I empty. Then I used TP to dry the end out before I fold it up. My ourout varies in thickness during the day from thick to applesause consistency.  When at home I use a red solo cup to pour in the water. Be careful not to pour too much in as it will go uo to the top of the bag and get water into the wafer. When away from home I have a little bottle of water in with my supply bag. I carry some TP folded in there incase I get stuck emptying in a public restroom without TP.

I also carry an appliance, marker, eakin like rings, clean underwear, sissors, wipes to clean skin, wipes to remove the wafer if necessary, barrier wipes and a quart sized Ziploc bag. The ziplock is for disposing of the used appliance.

Long answer to a simple question!
