I have to go for a CPT scan on my liver in August.  The last time I had a scan was almost 4  years ago.  My question is,  I had blood work taken last week from  my primary care doctor.   My liver results were good.  Does this mean I don't have to go for scan? I am just curious.  Thanks Grace

I would still go for the scan.  It just shows if there are any changes to your liver that the doctor needs to be aware of.  Kind of like a routine check up. A good thing with PSC especially.

I have PSC also. Although my liver enzymes have  been good for a number of years now, I've had periodic scans, ultrasounds, and biopsies on it to make sure it stays in healthy condition.

I will admit I'm a bit more paranoid than some about keeping my liver in good working order.  My brother died of complications relating to his PSC.  He was in his early thirties.

Still Standing    Thank you for your response.  My Gastro Dr. is in  NYC.  My travel time is about 1 hour 45 minutes into the city. MT Sinai Hospital.  I have my blood work taken from my GP.  I did ask my GP to fax my results to my Gastro .  I will keep my appt. in August.  With everything going on in the city I have been questioning whether to go in or not.   I am sorry to hear that your brother past away. Thank you for your input.   Grace
