Looking for a little advise.. I've had my jpouch for 16 years now. Never had any issues other than small pouchitis. Since August, I've had 4 pouchitis and this time it causes by Covid-19. My issue is that my dr. put me on Steroids for 6 weeks. The urgency is better but my issue now is with rectal pain. Everytime I use the bathroom I want to die from the pain. And the pain is constant. My specialist prescribed me a steroidal cream but it's useless.. any tips on a good cream or a good way to help with this pain. Im a lost soul at this point. Fed up of all this pain.

It's not clear whether your pain is constant or only when you poop. This degree of pain *with defecation* seems to most often be from an anal fissure. If it's an anal fissure these are most often treated with 1) sitz baths, 2) keeping the stool soft, 3) topical treatment with nitroglycerin or nifedipine or diltiazem, 4) (occasionally) Botox injections. Has your specialist told you what he thinks is going on?

Thanks for the answer Scott, the pain is constant but it's x10 when I defecate. I'm so used to having soft stools and with the cortisone treatment it makes it harder which also equals to more pain...I also find it sounds like anal fissure but the specialist I seen barely looked at me or said a single thing to me except - take Steroids for 6 weeks see if that helps, it sounds like pouchitis..

I love the sitz bath idea. Will definitely do that!!
