Hi,

I've had my JPouch for almost 25 years (yikes...didn't realize it was so long until I just did the math). WIthin that time, I've had a couple occurances of pouchitis, but it's been awhile.
My stomach is hurting today and not "normal" with a tightness feeling, slightly crampy. Am also a bit nauseated. Overnight, I had some cramps and was up a lot (but I"m always up a lot to use the washroom during the night). My stool isn't formed but not diarrhia either, and am not going much this morning so no urgency in the day. No bleeding or anything else. I take a probiotic daily (over the counter).

Could this be pouchitis or just a standard upset stomach? It's not so easy booking an appointment with my GI (day off work as he doesn't live near...and who knows when I could get in) so don't want to unless concern.

Sorry if this sounds silly, but any issue with my stomach brings back bad memories and am always scared I'll develop crohn's (I had colitis)

I think Crohns would be very unlikely to turn up after 25 years. We are all susceptible to food poisoning, intestinal infections, and all of the ordinary things that disrupt the GI tract. I'd give it a day or two to see if it resolves. If it's pouchitis the extra time won't do you any lasting harm, though it won't be any fun. Just my 2¢.
Thanks Scott. I always have a fear in the back of my mind that someday I will develop crohns.

Was quite nauseous overnight with bad cramps, but this morning it's mostly nauseau that comes and goes. Today i'm thinking it's more of a sour stomach or just my stomach being extra sensitive. Still feelign yucky though. Will see how I am and will give my GI a ring if no improvement.
