Hi Everyone.
I'm in need of some help. I started having major pouchitis symptoms a week ago Thursday. I started to treat it myself with left over flagyl, which usually helps. When that didn't help I started a cipro/ flagyl combo. That began to help but the side effects are unbearable. So, I stopped the flagyl, thinking that it just needed to kick in, but I began to feel majorly worse. I got in to see the Dr on Tuesday, and she recommended just cipro 500 x2 day. The cipro seems to be helping but by hour 10 after the morning does I start having increasing urgency, pressure with sit to stand, drinking water etc.....I am also having a major crampy period which started yesterday. My question is do you think the cipro is not quite doing the job? In the past, I would've been way better by now.... Has anyone tried flagyl, cipro and them had to go to something else? What worked? Am I not giving the cipro enough of a chance?
Thanks so much!
I also was tested for c diff, culture was negative...
