I am new to posting here, long tome stalker.  I have had my pouch since 2000 and have luckily never had issues until the last few years I developed pouchitis.  I kept it under control with Cipro as I am allergic to Flagyl and sulfa.   The last few months, the Cipro has not been working as well so my surgeon added Prednisone and has been tapering me rowan weekly.  I have noticed the symptoms returning once I got to 1 a day.  I really don't like taking steroids (as we all don't)  but wanted to see if there were any other suggestions you all might have for to ask my surgeon about.   Thank you in advance as I find awesome suggestions and helpful hints from everyone here that have helped me in the past on other issues.

There are plenty of other antibiotics to try: Augmentin, Tindamax, Xifaxan (expensive!), erythromycin, and some others. Don't give up - sometime antibiotics in combination become necessary.

Have you tried VSL #3 DS? Some of us get a lot of help from that. A very low carb diet can also be helpful in some cases. Good luck!
