pouch re created

Has anybody had their pouch re created? I have had many issues with my pouch twisting and prolapsing since my initial takedown. Two months ago I had a pouch pexy surgery to stitch my pouch to my tail bone. That procedure did not prove successful either. My surgeon in Washington has exhausted all his ideas. He is the best in all the north west states. He is referring me to Cleavland Clinic. He believes the only thing that may help is to have my pouch re done, the only other option is a permanent iliostomy. Im not sure im ready for that yet. The main reason my pouch is not working is do to the fact I have formed absoultely no scar tissue internally. If I have the surgery at the CC, I will have to travel quite a ways. Im struggling to make a decision. The takedown and pouch creation where tough on me the first time, and this is not guaranteed to work this time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

This is a life choice only you can answer. If a surgeon has to refer you somewhere else to fix his J pouch maybe he should not be doing them in the first place.

Pouch reconstruction is a rare procedure. Very few surgeons are experienced with it, so it is smart of your surgeon to refer you to the experts.
