My husband went to emergency last week - no fever, no vomiting; just could not go to the bathroom - he has the jpouch for 25 years.  Never had this happen.  After x-rays, ctscan and small bowel tests (took four hours), they said adhesion near the pouch - put him on Nas tube for four days - he was going to get a scope through the pouch but they said it would make him lose the pouch so we went to another hospital and the doctor kept him on liquids and no NAS tube; after two days he was better and passed wind and small movement in bowels; he is now home and is very nervous that he is not going like before (6-8 times a day) - but he passed lots of wind and made some stool (maybe grapefruit size) but not like previously.  He has no fever, is walking, no vomiting, on low fiber diet as directed and massaging tummy.  Does it take time to get back to normal after being in the hospital for a week with no solid food?  Should he worry he may have to go back to the hospital?  His only fear is not going as before, but he is passing a lot of gas and has some stool - again seems fine.  Any advice - did anyone has to wait a bit to return to normal after being in hospital for partial blockage and was sent home without surgery?
