Pain from long car rides and walking-advice needed

I had my reattachment surgery a little over a year ago.  Since then, when I go on long car rides and then walk, I am in a lot of pain.  Does anyone have any advice?  Today I went on an hour long ride, then walked at an outdoor street fair.  I am not really sure which, or if both, caused the pain.  Tomorrow I am traveling twice as far both ways.  Is there anything I can do to prevent this pain.  Does anyone have the same symptoms?

I haven't experienced this, but is the seat belt cutting into your abdomen? If you're not the driver, maybe place a pillow over your abdomen when in the car. Perhaps bumpy rides are worse? I would try to take note of how/when this happens, driver vs passenger and talk with your doctor. Pain of any type is awful!

It would help clarify things if you can further describe the pain. Is it relieved or changed by a bathroom trip? Does it move, or occur in a specific spot? Does it come and go, or is it constant? Under what circumstances does it go away or improve? Does it start during the car ride, or during the walk? Does it happen every time?
