: My husband just came home yesterday from having his j-pouch taken down and a permanent ileostomy. On  the ride
home we stopped to eat at an Arbys. Without realizing it, he ate most of a bun that had sesame seeds on the top. Today he is
complaining of some abdomen pain. We are concerned it might be a blockage from the seeds on the bun. Besides drinking lots of
fluid, what should we be doing? Not sure if it's just pain from the surgery--they had to open to complete it. Don't want to go to
emergency room if it isn't necessary. Any suggestions?

any kind of moving and twisting... though he probably isn't up for much of that so soon out of surgery.

also narcotics definitely slow down the gut. So the sooner he can reduce his pain medicines.. the better.

overall.. how is he doing. I know this was a big surgery and you were very concerned. Plz let us know.
wishing him the best.
