I've searched and searched but just can't find a site like this one for nephrostomys... And I need some help. I figure there may be some overlap here like there is for me (my account here is super out of date but I do have a jpouch too).

Anyway, the nephrostomy tube has a stopcock between the section coming from my back and the section going to the actual bag. Somewhere in this stopcock part, it's leaking. I've had this before, usually just after the tube is replaced, but that's because the doctor didn't tighten it enough. This time, its as tight as I can get it and still leaking. I want to get some sort of plastic tube sealer for traditional plastic tube leaks but I'm a little concerned about putting that where it might get in my kidney. I'm also thinking about hot glue , little less worried there because I think the chances of it wicking through the threads is slim... But still, not sure about hot gluing a medical thing.

Does anyone have any suggestions here? Thank you so much!

Also please let me know if there's another place I should put this in the forum, or of course if you know of a similar forum for a nephrostomy tube!

I have no clue either but empathize with your problem as a lot of us have tried unconventional ways to deal with our j-pouches and now our ileostomies.  I'd ask my doctor or stoma nurse before using foreign substances with it.

Leaks from anywhere are difficult and can adversely affect our quality of life. I hope you find a solution soon.

I also had to look up nephrostomy. A quick read up on it reminded me of all the  different stomas and intubation procedures I learned about when I first got my pouch. I had to leave a tube in my j-pouch for weeks a time early on and I had tried to make my own plug and tubing because of the difficulty I experienced using the standard post-surgical setup. I was also concerned at one point about using a glue in that area. I googled medical-grade glue and found a lot of options, even some on amazon.com. Other parts of my design idea didn't work out so I can't really offer anything specific. But if it's glue you're looking for, there are lots of options. Best wishes!
