Hi, I received a J-pouch in 1992 and have had 2 c-sections (2000 and 2010) and still young (48 yrs old).  I had some close encounters with possible obstructions through the years but managed them at home with Rx pain meds and bowel rest.  In November 2013 I had to have surgery to remove adhesions which had caused an obstruction and thought I was home free.  Until last week, when I was hospitalized for an obstruction at the small bowel and J-pouch connection.  My GI had previously informed me that it was definitely narrow at that section.

Does anyone have experience with balloon insertion to widen the small bowel or adhesion removal.  I am so afraid that this can occur again and HATE the archaic yet low cost and efficient NG tube.  Not to mention going into the hospital again.

Happy to be UC Free and living with J-pouch best decision I ever made!
