Hey guys,

My name is Nicole. I'm 24 years old and I had my entire colon taken out when I was 13.. I was diagnosed with UC at the age of 10 and after 3 years of the severity of my condition remaining unchanged despite the progressively more aggressive/ potent drugs I was given for my condition. I can say that my quality of life is better than before, however if I am being honest its not what I was hoping for.. I've been in a state of constant inflammation and pouchitis since my colectomy and I've now been told I have a fistula due to this and will be needing surgery later this year to correct it. I've done a ton of research to learn how to self manage this condition in order to avoid going on/ off antibiotics. I've tried low FOMAP/ AIP diets which seem to somewhat help, but I really think I can feel better/ manage this condition with the right nutritionist. My GI doesnt have a nutritionist she can recommend with experience working with those without colons (I know my body functions very differently now and I need a nutritionist who understands that) and I have searched with no luck in finding one I can make an online appointment with. Therefore, I am here asking anyone if they have someone qualified they can recommend I talk with online to help design a nutritional guideline for me.. and hopefully this post may also point others in the right direction.

Thank you,

Nicole
