I recently took a month of antibiotics for MRSA and my pouch has been acting up for the past week. The main issue is gas - in the afternoons and evenings I start having more frequent trips than usual to the bathroom on account of gas. Overall, I'm going about 8 times a day, and I normally go between 4 and 8, so it's not a huge increase. However, 6 of those bathroom trips are between 3 pm and 11 pm.
I had some leg/pelvic pain for a couple days but it's gone now, and could have been completely unrelated. No bleeding, no leakage, no incontinence. The gas is not painful. Sometimes I have watery diarrhea, sometimes not. I am keeping to a simple diet - soy milk, low fiber cereal, plain pasta, chicken, yogurt. Any opinions?

It does sound like your gut flora got a bit messed up with the antibiotics. I would suggest trying some probiotics to get things back to normal. However, it may increase gas initially, so don't expect instant improvement.

The other alternative is to just wait it out and see if things adjust on their own. The symptoms don't sound too troubling to me, and definitely does not sound like pouchitis. Your symptoms would be much, much worse.
