I was sent to see a Gyno due to the many yeast infections; apparently I'm hitting a dangerous level of medication for them (??). Something to do with the hormones the meds contain.
Anyway, she did some tests, told me I could go ahead and use the meds for another couple weeks until my surgery, which at that time was going to be next week.
Today she phoned back with test results; I have a slight bladder infection on top of everything else. She doesn't want to treat it unless I am VERY uncomfortable as the antibiotics will only make the semi-permanent yeast infection flare up.
And since I'll be having the pouch advancement rather than a muscle graft, with surgery in Amsterdam instead of here, the surgery won't be until (probably) mid-June. Which calls into question the yeast infection meds again.
Let's count: 1. blankety-blank fistula; 2. almost constant yeast infections (maybe can't be treated?); 3. stenotic stoma; 4. very bad leakage; 5. internal infection at stoma site (can't be treated); 6. bladder infection (can't be treated unless very bad; 7. delayed surgery.
I am exhausted and in pain and pretty miserable.
Bleah.
Thanks for listening,
Gin
