I hope I'm not reposting a topic, but I'm guessing some of you have seen the recent news about clues to the cause of Crohn's.  For those who haven't seen the release, here's a link: ( http://www.cbsnews.com/news/ne...e-of-crohns-disease/ ).

My hope is that this is good news for those of us with J-pouches, but does anyone here know for sure?  Or is this development too late for us but good news for future Crohn's patients?

I'm curious to see if anyone has any additional insight into this development and how it might directly help the patients who have been suffering the longest.

Thanks!

I read the article last week...they believe that it is a combination of a fungus and certain bacteria mixing together...if you have already lost your colon...Well it is too late to get it back But if you are still fighting the crohns then it may help you in the near future...they are still testing...not sure how much of the study results are ready to be used widely...here they are talking about it but not discussing using the results....I guess like many other findings...it is to be continued.

It can take up to 10 yrs for a treatment to begin to be used widely...patience for the patients
