Hello All,

Glad to see some familiar names still on the board.

I'm rousing from a long forum slumber because I just read about a potential breakthrough made in delivering medications to the GI tract.  MIT did an animal study looking at the affects of ultrasound on drug delivery to GI tissue.  Pretty cool, and something that could benefit those of us still battling occasional cuffitis, and our pre-op brothers and sisters still struggling with UC.  Nothing quite like battling the urge to go while you try and eke out every second of absorption time.  The study specifically looked at mesalamine as one of the drug samples.  The PopSci  article quotes 2-10 times the standard absorption rate.
