I'm not surprised the drs didn't have any suggestions. I found my high risk OB through another pouch patient. I wonder if you called the OB department at CC and asked them if they have drs who have pouch experience if you might get more info...

That's a good suggestion Jill. I had my first ultrasound today and saw the heartbeat! We are so thrilled! My infertility Dr has already given me the boot, which happened sooner than I had expected.

CONGRATS Andrea! And wow, 6 weeks to get the boot is really early. I work in a fertility clinic and we keep our patients until about 9 weeks when we've done at least 2 ultrasounds and made sure they are ready to wean off progesterone. Hope you have a wonderful and uneventful pregnancy

I have to be on PIO and estrogen patches until 10 weeks, so I had assumed I would be with them until then. It was a huge shock today when they told me I've graduated. I'm not ready. Lol.

Yeah, really kind of strange. Well, just make sure to stay on the PIO and estrogen until they do a couple rounds of blood work before weaning. I'm guessing you've had very low progesterone levels since you are doing injectables as opposed to the suppositories?

Thank you meghspd. vstRN, I did a FET. I'm not sure why, but my RE does suppositories for a fresh transfer and PIO for frozen. The shots aren't fun, but I think I can handle them for another month.

I think every RE has their own preference. Shots definitely aren't fun but with FETs in our clinic, we have our patients do suppositories 3 times a day so that is no picnic as well.

I went to Abdelaziz Saleh and LOVED LOVED LOVED him. He is a high-risk/MFM specialist out of Fairview, which is a facility very well equipped to deal with high-risk moms like us pouchers. Dr. Saleh is very smart and listened to all my concerns.

With his input and after some discussion, we both agreed that we wanted a colo-rectal surgeon to assist at my c-section. I found a guy who practiced out of Fairview who had experience with pouchers and contacted him, set up a meeting and he agreed to consult on the C. He showed up promptly on the scheduled day and he and Saleh capably handled my C, which went very smoothly.
