My Uncle Mike lost his colon to cancer about 10 years ago. He recently developed a obstruction. His potassium went wacky and started effecting his heart. He declined the obstruction surgery last week, so they tried to make him comfortable. He passed away yesterday. He was 90, I presume he didn't want to go through another surgical recovery. I know how hard recovery is...can't imagine what it would be like at that age. When faced with the choice, he died on his terms.
