I am now able to keep pouchitis away with a regime I've been tweaking for the past 9 years. This is the list of meds I take daily, in order of effectiveness for me: Rowasa Enema nightly (generic version), VSL#3 once daily, Pepto Bismuth tabs 2 per day,  Fish Oil 2x/day.

It is curious that certain times of the year are harder to avoid pouchitis for me, usually a change in seasons, especially from fall to winter..

Pouchboy, it could be the food you eat when the season changes. Autumn to winter you might eat heavier, heartier foods, or whatever is in abundance such as root vegetables. More fibrous vegetables might cause frequency. When I eat too much portabello mushrooms I experience symptoms. In summer, watermelons are great, but full of sugar = frequency.
