i was diagnosed with UC about 12 years ago, and have a j-pouch.  I've been having a lot of joint issues, and take methotrexate.  I just saw a new gastroenterologist who suggested I may actually have crohn's, so I have some further tests coming up.  I've had a flare of both joint and bathroom issues recently, and just finished a course of 5mg prednisone of about 3 weeks.  Just after stopping the prednisone, I got some mouth swelling.  More my gums, the roof of my mouth, palate and lips than my tongue, though that's a little rough too.  Wondering how to tell whether it's thrush vs a symptom of Crohn's.  It started when I ate some very ripe mango. So I initially thought it was a reaction to that, but it's persisted for a few days, and gotten a bit worse.  Have been rinsing with hydrogen peroxide and warm salt water.  The irritation is spreading to around my lips, and is itchy.  The roof of my mouth is worst.  Thanks for any insight!
