Help! I had cervical spine surgery 2 weeks go with no real complications except alot of pain.

In back in the hospital again All those pain meds reeked havoc on by stomach and they think I had a blockage of kind. Which CT seemed to comfirm.

Was taking oxy x2, Valium x2, tylenol x2, at home. No help with pain. Finally got back to hospital and they gave me a strong anti inflamatory which helped with neck pain. But I Also have been living on a cocktail of meds. When I was admitted to emergency This past Wednesday, I also had severe stomach cramping and was bound up. CT scan fluid unblocked me. Since then constant GREEN diarrhea even though NPO. They tried liquids yesterday and it failed miserably.
Since then, I have lost all control of my bowels and it just leaks and comes out without warning or help.

Hope there are some ideas. Even more so, hope this is coherent enough. Still in pain meds and Valium and Being xfered to mt Sinai later. dr Bauer on vacation so I'm seeing a parter.

I never had problems with pouch since the beginning. Boy, am I scared.

Thanks.

Lisa, sometimes pain management meds cause diarrhea, and you are / were taking many different meds, a whole cocktail of meds, as you say. It could take time to clear from your system. The green output is likely your bile that is leaving your system. Remember the first few days after your reversal it was all green sludge leaving your body? That was bile, green because there is no food for the bile to work on, usually turning it orange or brown. And if you are NPO now your bile will be green until you can take solids or semi solid food. If you are still in hospital right now that may be the safest place for you as you will have help and medical assistance, especially while you are frightened and sick so soon after spine surgery, and have no bowel control for now. I hope you see your doctor or the partner soon, and find answers.

Thanks. Transferred to Mt Sinai earlier today. Hoping for some answered.  3 CT scans in 4 days. Ridiculous. Each DR/ hospital wants their own. I guess that's a whole other healthcare discussion.

Since Bauer is here and did my orig surgery and it was so succedsful, I'm back. Of course he's on vacation.  The care was horrible 18 yrs ago and no better now except for 2 staff who went above and beyond.  Will know what 3rd scan says tomorrow  hold on out for 25 min for my meds - for the neck disc pain.  Tks  lisa
