Does anyone have experience with determining if you are losing response to humira? Those who have switched anti TNFs - I wonder how this was determined.My son seems clinically fine, with his level of humira being perfectly adequate. But his CRP and ESR inflammation levels are creeping up and his albium ( and iron) have dropped. Something I read suggests he may need to switch to a drug with a new pathway....? Thanks
For me, it was a gradual return of symptoms, or there being a sensation of it "wearing off" before the next dose. With Humira, I had to have weekly injections, instead of every two weeks, and even then, the effect waned after a few years. I believe they can test for antibodies (I am sure they can for Remicade). But, my rheumy was content to just move on to the next thing.
Inflammatory markers can be used in part to determine treatment efficacy.
