Do you use liposomal iron? It is reportedly better absorbed and does not have side effects like standard forms.

Thank-you for posting this! I think this would be a great option for people who do not want IV iron infusions
As someone who gets regular IV iron I read this with interest. I then when down the rabbit hole and looked at some studies done in Italy and the US on the results of using liposomal iron instead of infusions. The only patients I could find who had been in study groups were a small amount of chronic kidney disease patients. These small numbers studied showed NO difference to ferritin or hemoglobin levels after 6 months of liposomal iron ingestion. Four of 38 studied in the US report dropped out because of GI symptoms (diarrhea, irritation or constipation). The transferrin saturation were improved in all patients. These patient due to their kidney disease lack erythropoietin. Many of us J-Pouchers have normal kidneys (thank goodness) so this may be a good solution.
Thank you science!
I take 30 mg a day. Sometimes 60mg. Supposedly more is absorbed. I can't tell you the results because I didn't measure before taking it, but 12 months ago I went for an iron infusion. (Maybe due to cuffitis) Hemoglobin was 70.
