I  was taking cipro for maintenance  of pouchitis. So I ran out and called the surgeon to get refills.  The nurse said I had to go in because I had not seen him in six months. So now I  have  pouchitis and it takes forever to get in to see surgeon. I told her I  did not see the point of going in if I  already knew what was wrong and what I  needed. So I  found some leftover flagyl and got better a few days later. The only thing is that now I have  this pinkish fluid coming out of my anus. I often have cuffitis and is treated with cipro and entyvio. I  need to lose fifty pounds in order to have pouch advancement surgery.I  am due for entyvio but I'm  waiting for the approval from my insurance. The fluid is not mucus or poop.It stains my underwear. This symptom  is new to me. I've  had my jpouch for 7years and have been on cipro and flagyl  since day one.i go to the bathroom 10 times everyday. With the entyvio  my stool has started to form but I  still have a lot of urgency and diarrhea.

The pinkish fluid may be some light bleeding as the now-untreated cuffitis worsens.  Perhaps the Cipro will clear the cuff up when you restart it. Your surgeon sounds like a bit of a problem. Perhaps you'd get better service from a pouch-knowledgeable gastroenterologist? Also, if you're not making progress on those 50 pounds you may need to find a more reasonable surgeon who will (along with you) accept the greater surgical risk from the higher weight. Good luck!
