I have had a jpouch with chronic pouchitis and Diarrhea for 15 years. I was on remicade for 12 years and the most formed stool I ever had was of pudding consistency.  Now, I have switched to entivio and I am having solid stool.  I know this should be good,  but it is odd for me now.  It hurts... I think possibly I'm just not used to it? Any suggestions?

Happy to hear you found something that works. You say it hurts, what hurts? Taking the meds or having solid stools?

ive had chronic diarrhea for what seems like forever, it is a pain in my ash, I’ve lived with a Jpouch now for 38yrs but I would never take any of those meds with those crazy side effects that could possibly kill me.

A pudding consistency is normal and healthy for a J-poucher. Stool that is too hard can be difficult to empty from a J-pouch, which lacks the muscles that the rectum had. The anal canal should be able to tolerate soft solid stool just fine, but no one passes bricks comfortably. Is it possible that you’re not drinking enough water? Can you describe the pain location and character?

Has your doctor examined you for strictures? After years of watery stools your pouch could be very narrow.
