Hi everyone it’s been a while since I last posted. In need of some help from this community which has truly been a rock for me throughout my experience with UC and a Jpouch.

I’m seeking opinions from anyone on here who may have experience with primary care doctors and GI specialists in the Los Angeles area, specifically in the San Fernando valley. I am in the process of getting new health insurance through Kaiser Permanente and I need to find a competent new primary care doc and also a new GI specialist. I’ve had my Jpouch for almost 9 years now without too many major issues besides a few minor bouts of pouchitis, some nocturnal incontinence, butt burn, etc. In the past few weeks, some scary symptoms have resurfaced including increased frequency, abdominal pain/discomfort, watery diarrhea 12-15 times per day, fatigue, mild dehydration, headaches and joint pain. My regular Jpouch output is around 6-8 times per day without many issues so I am increasingly concerned that my body is flaring again like it did when I still had my colon in 2011. I have not had a pouchoscopy or any major GI care since 2012 as I have been relatively lucky with my overall health since then.

Appreciate any and all advice

Matt

Thanks Scott! I didn’t even consider C. diff infection but I guess it could be. I went to an urgent care and gave a stool sample to be tested for any signs of bacterial infection. They also considered it to be a possible COVID-19 infection that may be presenting itself in a different way than most experience so I was nasal swab tested for that as well. Today will be 48 hours later so I’m just waiting for any test results at this point. Hoping your body has treated you kindly lately without too many pains or discomforts. Thank you again for the response.
