Lauren you would love it!!!   No more wipes and I use hardly any tp—2 squares to pat dry and 1 square folded in half to catch any irritating leakage.   It was easy to install, however the water line to the toilet sprang a Tiny leak because it was 31 years old, so we had to get a plumber to replace that.  My husband saw the Tushy highly recommended in Consumer Guide and ordered it online.

Yeah, I never heard any complaints from people about a bidet on the J-pouch website. I may have to look into getting one. Some people have a bidet that comes with a dryer hahaa

The dryers are nice (and expensive), but the ones I’ve tried aren’t powerful enough to fully dry you off in a reasonable amount of time. So some TP is still useful for efficiency.

Yeah, I figured. It seems like it would be a lot quicker in general to use tp to dry off. In general, getting a bidet sounds a lot cheaper in the long run. I spend close to $20 about every 3 months in wipes alone for my over 10bms a day routine. Goodness knows how much I spend in toilet paper.

Its hard to pick which bidet is better. What kind of bidet do you have Scott??? I know you had yours for 6 plus years.

I have a ridiculously expensive bidet - a Toto Washlet with some bells and whistles. I did *not* spring for the one that opens the lid automatically as you walk up to it. One feature that I do like is that it sprays down the bowl before and after use, which makes it much less likely that any stool will stick to it. I had gotten very tired of sticking my hand into the toilet to wipe it off. I’ve had to send it in for service twice, and the service alone cost more than buying a simple bidet. You will *never* save enough money on wipes and TP to pay for an expensive bidet. I’m very glad to have it.

Sounds high tech!!! I think for now I am going to stick to my method of wipes and tp. I like things old-fashioned hahaa, I even got a basic phone hahaa.

I bought a very inexpensive bidet (BioBidet Elite 3) to use when the Washlet was in for service. It worked great, much better than TP or wipes, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. Since it’s just cold water I was glad to be using it in the summertime.

DANG!!!!! I just looked up how much those bidets are!!!! Toto Washlet is over $400!!! THATS OUT!!!!! TP AND WIPES ARE MY FOREVER!!! xD BioBidet Elite 3 is $40 at Sam's Club, that sounds more reasonable. I would not like to pay for repairs though, that would get on my nerves hahaa. At least I can count on wipes and tp to continue to work ahahaa!

J-pouch In 2008. Never even thought about a bidet after all these years of pouchitis, irritation, wipes and blah blah blah. That all changed one year ago in anticipation of thumb/wrist surgery on my dominant hand.  It occurred to me that, after the surgery,I wasn’t going to ask my wife to wipe my butt 6-8 times per day. I had to teach myself to wipe w/other hand or find a another solution.  By coincidence I had recently experienced my first bidet at a friends house. So, prior to the hand surgery I bit the bullet  and purchased the same model as my friend in hopes it would also help with the other irritations etc. BEST INVESTMENT I EVER MADE!! The process takes a little time to clean & dry but I never need to dab w/tp. Do my business, clean, dry and bye-bye! Seat also has a warmer for those cold winter interrupted nights. Probably the biggest issue for many is that installation for this type requires a nearby GFI (“circuit breaker type”) outlet. Otherwise installation is VERY easy. TP is practically a thing of the past for me and what perfect timing. No worries about running out or stocking up....as long as the power doesn’t go out😂. I bought the Bio Bidet 600 through Bed and Bath with coupon. It was around $350.
